L'affaire Vaux et Petit
Between 1851 and 1859, 2/3 of the village of Longepierre was destroyed by 25 arsons, unjustly attributed to the schoolteacher Pierre Vaux and his friend Jean-Baptiste Petit, who were sentenced to the penal colony.
