The port, located at the confluence of the Saône and the Doubs rivers, offers a tranquil setting to moor your boat and discover the charm of an authentic riverside town. Two experiences to live ! If you’re looking for canoe or kayak rentals near Chalon-sur-Saône, Beaune and Dijon, the tourist office offers kayak trips down the Doubs river, a nature route where you let yourself be carried by the current through a preserved setting.
At Verdun-Ciel, La Guinguette La Plage also rents kayaks for shorter river trips along the Saône, ideal for enjoying the riverbanks and relaxing with family or friends.
From early July to late August, rent a single or double kayak to paddle down the Doubs River from Navilly (14 km, 4 hours), Pontoux (10 km, 2.5 hours), or Saunières (6 km, 1.5 hours) to Verdun-Ciel.

From Navilly, allow 4 hours; from Pontoux, 2.5 hours; and from Saunières, 1.5 hours. Allow an additional 30 minutes (for choosing life jackets, transportation, and a safety briefing before the activity).
The route starting from Saunières is best suited to beginners and families. The routes starting from Pontoux and Navilly are more suitable for people who have already practiced this activity due to the endurance required.
Children can start kayaking from the age of 5. Up to the age of 12, they must be accompanied by an adult.
