Ligne de démarcation - ancien poste de contrôle allemand - Poteau-pupitre

Since 2022, the Combattants Volontaires de la Résistance (CVR) of the Cluny-Mâcon-Chalon section have been working on a project to mark the old demarcation line, the border imposed by the enemy from 1940 to 1943. The engraved posts are located at former German checkpoints. You can find out more about local history at the information desks.

The commune of Verdun-Ciel was crossed by the demarcation line, marked by the Saône and Doubs rivers.
A German checkpoint was in place at the entrance to the Bordes bridge.
