Until the advent of the Revolution, the commune we know today was a parish whose church was the essential meeting point for people from the various hamlets. This unassuming building, which was significantly altered in the 19th century, features a bell tower with multicoloured glazed tiles reminiscent of that of Louhans and the roof of the Hospices de Beaune. It houses two bells, one dating from 1552, listed as a historic monument in 1932, and the other from 1768. The girls' school, a magnificent stone building, was built in 1888. The boys' school, built in 1855, was for many years home to the town hall.
